Deanna Schleigh

Executive Director

Deanna Schleigh serves as the Executive Director of Seaton Hagerstown Assisted Living and Memory Care, where she leads daily operations with a strong focus on resident experience, team development, and community connection. A Hagerstown native, Deanna brings a deep understanding of the local community and a natural leadership style that fosters trust among residents, families, and team members alike.

Deanna began her professional career in the legal field, gaining more than 15 years of legal experience before transitioning into senior living. She entered the industry by managing business office operations, where she quickly mastered the operational and regulatory aspects of senior care while discovering her passion for supporting seniors and their families. Prior to becoming Executive Director, she served as Senior Lifestyle Counselor, compassionately guiding families through the transition to senior living and helping them find the right home at Seaton Hagerstown.

In addition to her operational expertise, Deanna has cultivated strong partnerships with community organizations, ensuring meaningful collaboration that benefits residents and the greater Hagerstown area. She holds a degree in Business Administration and is also a certified fitness instructor, having taught group fitness classes for more than a decade—an experience that reflects her commitment to wellness and engagement at every stage of life.

Outside of work, Deanna enjoys spending time with her husband, Eric, and their two daughters, Erianna and Erilyn. A former musical theater enthusiast with a background in music education and music therapy studies, she brings creativity, authenticity, and heart into everything she does. Deanna credits Discovery Senior Living with providing opportunities to grow professionally while remaining true to herself, and she is proud to lead with integrity, compassion, and purpose.

Brandi Mellott

Business Office Manager

Brandi Mellott is a seasoned Business Office Manager and Human Resources professional with extensive experience spanning transportation, agriculture, nonprofit services, tax preparation, property management, and senior living environments. She brings a strong operational foundation supported by professional certifications, including SHRM-CP, Accounting Fundamentals, Business Management, and Women in Leadership.

Throughout her career, Brandi has successfully served in a variety of leadership roles, including Office Manager, Human Resources Manager, Corporate Secretary, Transportation Manager, Rental Manager, and Tax Professional. These diverse experiences have shaped her practical, ethical, and fair leadership approach, with a consistent focus on policy compliance, process improvement, staff training, and employee support.

As a single parent, Brandi raised two children and guided them through college while advancing her professional career—an experience that reinforced her resilience, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment to doing things the right way. She is widely recognized for her consistency, integrity, and ability to support both leadership teams and employees through periods of growth and change.

Fun fact: Brandi shares her home with a six-pound chihuahua named Coconut Lucille Clementine, who is fully convinced she runs the household.

Christina Marie Metz

Director of Culinary Services 

Christina Marie Metz has served as the Director of Culinary Services at Seaton Hagerstown Assisted Living and Memory Care since July 2022. With a lifelong passion for cooking and hospitality, Christina brings creativity, dedication, and warmth to the dining experience for residents and team members alike.

Christina grew up in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, where she attended Greencastle-Antrim High School. Her culinary journey began with hands-on experience in restaurant kitchens, where she discovered her love for preparing meals and creating meaningful dining experiences. Over time, she transitioned her talents into senior living, where she combines her culinary expertise with her passion for enhancing residents’ quality of life.

Family is very important to Christina. She is the proud mother of three children — Jessie, Kyle, and Belle — and she shares her home with her beloved dog, Buddy. Outside of work, Christina enjoys cooking, staying active, and cheering on her children in their activities. She especially takes pride in her role as a dedicated and supportive “sports mom.”

Known for her positive attitude and sense of humor, Christina brings energy and heart to her role each day. She values the relationships she has built during her time with Discovery Senior Living and enjoys being part of a team focused on providing exceptional service and care. Her approachable personality and commitment to excellence help create a welcoming, enjoyable dining environment for residents and their families.

Dorothy J. Miller

Delegating Nurse

Dorothy J. Miller is a dedicated nursing professional with more than 26 years of experience in long-term care and clinical leadership. A native of Cumberland, Maryland, Dorothy earned her Registered Nursing degree from Allegany College and began her career in the hospital setting, working primarily on an orthopedic unit while supporting multiple clinical departments as needed. Her early experience built a strong clinical foundation and a collaborative approach to patient care.

Dorothy discovered her passion for long-term care early in her career and successfully transitioned into the field, where she has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Infection Control Coordinator/Staff Development Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Director of Nursing since 2003. Throughout her career she has remained committed to education, quality, and regulatory excellence. She holds certifications in IV Therapy, Infection Control, and MDS proficiency, and is a certified Delegating Nurse and Train-the-Trainer instructor for assisted living. In addition, she has taught both the Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) and Certified Medication Technician (CMT) courses, helping mentor and prepare future caregivers.

In May 2024, Dorothy joined Seaton of Hagerstown as Delegating Nurse, where she supports clinical operations and assists staff in maintaining safe, compassionate, and compliant resident care. She values teamwork, education, and empowering caregivers to confidently meet residents’ needs.

Outside of work, Dorothy treasures time with her family. She is the proud mother of a daughter and son, grandmother to four grandsons, and great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren. She also shares a close bond with her brother. She especially enjoys gathering with family and friends, sharing meals, and the lively conversation and connection those moments bring.

Dorothy considers it a blessing to serve the residents and staff at Seaton of Hagerstown and is committed to supporting excellence in all aspects of nursing care.

Dwight Thomas Jr.

Director of Facility Operations

Dwight Thomas Jr. serves as the Director of Facility Operations where he oversees daily facility operations, safety compliance, vendor coordination, and preventive maintenance programs. With a strong background in operational leadership and hands-on facilities management, Dwight is dedicated to creating safe, efficient, and welcoming environments for residents, staff, and visitors.

Dwight’s educational foundation includes coursework and professional training in facility management, safety standards, and building operations, which have shaped his expertise in maintaining high-quality environments. His commitment to continuous learning enables him to adapt to evolving organizational needs, improve processes, and lead effectively.

Throughout his career, Dwight has earned a reputation for reliability, collaboration, and a solutions-focused mindset. He is passionate about streamlining operations, supporting cross-departmental teams, and ensuring that each community operates at the highest standards of quality, safety, and care.

Outside of work, Dwight enjoys staying engaged in his community, developing new skills, and spending time with family. He approaches each day with integrity, strong work ethic, and a commitment to making a positive impact in every role he serves.
